to love me,
me with the needy eyes and the untamed hair,
your forget-me-nots slowly dying on the sill.
The sun slips through the littered room exposing
half-read books, half-bitten nails and there I am
hoping you’ll embrace the crumpled sheets
and crumbs.
Though my ears are filled with siren song
and my mouth spews wildfire, my nimble fingers
could make daisy chains with your body
if I just learned to sit still.
And I would swallow constellations, dot
the stars along your hairline and dance
in Taurus’ obliging twinkle.
But then
there are those long pauses waiting
to breathe, my weakness lying around us
like scorched earth, just to see if you’ll jump.
And there’s so little left that doesn’t ache
that I dare you
to find me
before I turn to ash.

Rough and tough... but then, real love is just that or should be.
ResponderEliminarDo you think so? Easy is nice too- mostly I'm a pain in the ass myself...
ResponderEliminarEasy is when you think you´re there and then you´re not. Life isn´t easy, love isn´t easy, but if it were, it would be bloody boring.
ResponderEliminarI'm just blown away by your words, the way you carefully choose them and tend them; you make music and images with them... I envy you the way you master them, like these two sentences, "my nimble fingers could make daisy chains with your body if I just learned to sit still. And I would swallow constellations, dot the stars along your hairline," how do you do that??? To say that they are beautiful doesn't do them justice, it' snot just beauty, it's what they convey, to reach for the stars and dot them on the lover's body, that's god-like, and when we're in love, we all feel that way, that we want to pour out our love in a godly way, and then reality hits again and we're bound back to earth... See how many words I used to say what you said in just a few, magnificent verses?????
ResponderEliminarThanks so much Vince- I think you know how much it means to me that you read these...
